Robert Amsterdam ignores army killers

by Giles Ji Ungpakorn - 20 May 2012

I believe Robert’s sincerity as a fellow human being and I like his detailed investigations. I fully support his position on the terrible conditions in Thai jails. BUT each of us has a role and as Taksin’s lawyer, Robert’s ability to bring justice to Thailand is limited. HOWEVER, there are other more important issues to consider.

(1) Robert is copying Pua Thai and the UDD in only talking about Abhisit and Sutep as the killers of Rajprasong in 2010. But the huge gap here is that the army generals Prayut and Anupong are quietly being ignored because Taksin and Yingluk have made an agreement with the military.

(2) Telling the world about Thailand’s injustices is necessary, but change can only come from within Thailand because the world’s elites care nothing for democracy and justice in Thailand.

Taksin, Yingluk and the UDD now want us to give in and forget the injustices.
